About The Position
The Patient Care Technician under the direction of the professional staff, assists with patient care to provide support to the patient, nursing unit and professional staff. The Surgical Services Patient Care Technician also transports patients from unit to unit and outpatients to their vehicle after discharge.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Nice To Haves
- 1 year of experience as a nursing assistant in a comparable healthcare facility
- Graduate from a certified nursing assistant program
- Certified Medical Assistant program
- Nursing student who documents completion of the first semester of a Nursing Program
- Documented military experience as a medic/corpsman
- Foreign Nursing graduate not currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the U.S
- EMT Certification/Paramedic License
Responsibilities
- Assists with patient care to provide support to the patient, nursing unit and professional staff.
- Transports patients from unit to unit.
- Transports outpatients to their vehicle after discharge.
