About The Position

The Patient Care Services Supervisor directs and ensures that patients are assessed and their care is planned, implemented, and evaluated by competent professional nursing staff using age-specific criteria. The position is responsible for meeting New York State nursing practice standards and regulatory agency requirements, and for managing personnel, supplies, and equipment on the units. The supervisor promotes teamwork among physicians, nursing staff, and other hospital departments. In the absence of the VP Patient Care Services or Director of Medical Services, the supervisor assumes responsibility for directing patient care and making administrative decisions for Nursing Service in accordance with hospital standards, policies, and procedures.

This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position in the AHMC Assisted Living department at The Alice Center in Malone, New York. The listed day shift is 8:00 AM–4:30 AM. No weekend work is required.

Responsibilities

• Direct and ensure patient assessment and the planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care by competent professional nursing staff using age-specific criteria.
• Ensure nursing practice meets New York State standards and applicable regulatory agency requirements.
• Manage personnel, supplies, and equipment on the units.
• Promote teamwork among physicians, nursing staff, and other hospital departments.
• In the absence of the VP Patient Care Services or Director of Medical Services, direct patient care and make administrative decisions for Nursing Service in accordance with hospital standards, policies, and procedures.
