About The Position

The Patient Services Supervisor oversees staff readiness, performance, productivity, attendance, and scheduling, and ensures patient food service operations meet standards for timing, quality, cleanliness, food safety, and accurate delivery. The role also maintains required operational documentation and promptly addresses safety, security, sanitation, and equipment concerns.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Three to four years of hospital food service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Ensures staff are trained and competent before assignment to a position.
Maintains employee performance documentation for evaluations and counseling.
Enforces disciplinary actions and documents them accurately and completely.
Monitors job tasks and suggests ways to improve efficiency.
Works with employees to increase productivity.
Tracks employee attendance and punctuality.
Follows up on security, safety, and sanitation problems.
Schedules employees based on census, minimizes overtime, and informs subordinates of adjustments to posted schedules.
Starts the patient tray line on time.
Checks food for taste, temperature, and portion size.
Ensures cleaning procedures are followed.
Enforces dress code and proper use of gloves, aprons, and hair restraints.
Enforces appropriate food-handling procedures to ensure food safety.
Monitors the accuracy of patient trays and floor-stock supply delivery.
Monitors refrigerators and freezers to ensure proper food storage, including wrapping, labeling, and dating.
Immediately reports safety hazards and defective equipment.
Maintains accurate and complete temperature logs, floor-stock supply records, and other reports.
