About The Position

Directs and ensures that all patients are assessed and that their care is planned, implemented, and evaluated by competent professional nursing staff using age-specific criteria. The role is responsible for meeting New York State standards for nursing practice and all regulatory agency requirements, and for managing personnel, supplies, and equipment on the units. It promotes teamwork among physicians, nursing staff, and other hospital departments. In the absence of the VP Patient Care Services or Director of Medical Services, the supervisor assumes responsibility for directing patient care and making administrative decisions for Nursing Service, using knowledge of hospital standards, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities
