About The Position

Lake Eye Associates is seeking a Patient Care Representative to serve as a first and last point of contact for patients and help maintain a friendly, professional environment. The role focuses on providing an attentive, organized, and positive patient experience at the practice. The position is full-time and located in The Villages, Florida. The regular schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the opportunity for occasional overtime.

Requirements

High school diploma.
Prior experience in a customer service role.
Knowledge of relevant materials, methods, instruments, and equipment.
Ability to read, write, and perform mathematical calculations.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment, and manage time to meet organizational deadlines and requirements.
Ability to work under pressure and respond positively to patient requests.

Responsibilities

Greet and direct patients, visitors, and staff upon entering the practice.
Monitor reception areas and provide assistance as needed.
Verify insurance coverage for patients.
Provide a prompt check-in experience by verifying required information and assisting patients with questionnaires and forms.
Print daily team and physician schedules.
Assist walk-in patients and handle scheduling inquiries and prescription or record pickups as needed.
Share relevant information using telephone and computer software systems.
Cross-check and update next-day charts against the appointment schedule.
Maintain an orderly workspace that supports the integrity and safety of patients and staff.
Make appointment confirmation calls based on the patient appointment schedule.
Collect copayments, fees for non-covered services, and existing account balances during patient checkout.
Complete requested reports and forms.
