Patient Care Assistant (PCA) - Inpatient Services
About The Position
Shriners Children's Chicago is hiring a part-time Patient Care Assistant for its Inpatient Unit. The PCA assists with patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, providing direct care and completing routine assigned tasks. The role involves interacting compassionately and appropriately with patients and families, assisting with wound and skin care, stocking the unit and work areas, and performing delegated nursing care activities as appropriate. The position is 48 hours bi-weekly (0.6 FTE), with hours from 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm and an every-other-weekend and holiday rotation. The pay range is $18.65–$27.98, with compensation determined by relevant experience and departmental equity.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA).
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification from the American Heart Association.
- One year of pediatric experience.
Responsibilities

- Demonstrate caring and appropriate behavior when interacting with patients and families.
