About The Position
Shriners Children's Chicago is hiring a PRN Patient Care Assistant for its Inpatient Unit. The Patient Care Assistant supports patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, providing direct care and performing routine assigned tasks. The role includes interacting with patients and families with caring and appropriate behavior, assisting with wound and skin care, keeping unit and work areas stocked, and carrying out delegated nursing care activities as appropriate. The position works 8-hour shifts on an as-needed basis.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA).
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification from the American Heart Association.
- One year of pediatric experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the delivery of patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Provide direct patient care and perform routine tasks as assigned.
- Demonstrate caring and appropriate behavior when interacting with patients and families.
- Assist with wound and skin care.
- Keep unit and work areas stocked.
