About The Position

Shriners Children's Ohio is hiring a Patient Care Assistant for its Inpatient Unit. The role supports a team providing compassionate, family-centered care to children. The Patient Care Assistant delivers patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, performs routine assigned tasks, and helps maintain a safe, supportive environment for patients and families. This is a part-time evening-shift position working 32 hours per week.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) qualification and Ohio STNA license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS).

Nice To Haves

• One year of pediatric experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Provide direct patient care and perform routine tasks as assigned.
• Demonstrate caring and appropriate behavior when interacting with patients and families.
• Assist with wound and skin care.
• Keep unit and work areas stocked.
• Provide delegated nursing care activities as appropriate.
• Assist with planning and providing structured, age-appropriate activities for patients under the guidance or direction of a Child Life Therapist.
• Monitor children's activities and maintain a safe physical and psychosocial environment for children.
