About The Position

The PSR II Float provides front office and scheduling support across multiple Occupational Therapy clinic locations, including the Milliken Hand Clinics and Community Practice (CP). This position supports patient access, scheduling, registration, insurance verification, and daily clinic operations while maintaining excellent customer service. The PSR Float is expected to adapt quickly to different clinic workflows and travel between assigned locations based on operational needs. Occupational Therapy Clinics, located in Chesterfield (primary site), St. Louis City (Cortex) and Sunset Hills, MO. Travel to other locations to assist due to vacations, absences, volume. This position is primarily scheduled as four (4) 10-hour shifts per week with one regularly scheduled day off. Based on operational and staffing needs, the schedule may be adjusted to five (5) 8-hour shifts or other departmental scheduling needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent high school certification or combination of education and/or experience.
  • Basic Life Support - American Heart Association, Basic Life Support - American Red Cross
  • Billing Systems And Third-Party Claims And/Or Medical Office Setting, Related Customer Service (3 Years)
  • Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within one month of hire date.
  • Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements).

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for greeting and registering new patients and scheduling new and returning patient appointments.
  • Maintains daily clinician appointment schedules and calendars and, when necessary, applies modifications to system scheduling.
  • Responsible for preparation of new patient electronic medical record files prior to patient visit to ensure appropriate documentation is secured, including insurance verification, authorization, and appropriate referrals.
  • Updates documents/medical records based on current insurance guidelines including pre-certification of occupational therapy procedures, obtaining necessary referral/prescription forms, and other medical documentation.
  • Responsible for compiling, copying, and faxing/mailing monthly correspondence relating to patient visits.
  • Ensures patients receive and complete relevant forms prior to appointment.
  • Responsible for sending out monthly correspondence, for specialized patients, regarding their treatment evaluations as assigned.
  • Collects co-payments and other patient payments in accordance with departmental policies.
  • Provide coverage across multiple Occupational Therapy locations, adapting quickly to different workflows and staffing needs.
  • Trains and orients other PSR’s to the clinical setting as assigned.
  • Adheres to all HIPAA regulations and assists in developing and maintaining front desk policies.
