About The Position

Under the direction of the PAS supervisor or manager, the Patient Access Representative assists patients during on-site registration and arrival for scheduled and unscheduled visits and completes financial clearance functions. For unscheduled visits, the role completes registration by collecting accurate demographic and insurance information and collecting patient liability, if known, at the time of service. The role also performs financial clearance functions for assigned scheduled accounts. The representative greets and serves patients professionally, in a friendly and respectful manner, to promote positive encounters. Information must be gathered in accordance with applicable regulatory and compliance requirements and documented accurately and promptly.

This is a full-time, day-shift, onsite position with Providence Revenue Cycle Business Services.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree in Healthcare or Business Administration.
• Three years of experience in Patient Access or a business office setting.
• Experience with insurance eligibility systems.
• Three years of medical terminology use in a job setting.
• Knowledge of medical billing codes.
• One year of knowledge of Epic applications.

Responsibilities
