About The Position

Inova Fairfax Hospital- PEC Willow Oaks is looking for a dedicated Patient Access Specialist to join their team. This position will also float to Fair Oaks - PEC location on occasion. This position is full-time, Monday- Friday 8am-5:00pm.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1 year of patient access experience

Responsibilities

• Manages complex cases, resolves errors, confirms authorizations, validates, and indexes documents.
• Prepares schedules, tracks records, and navigates multiple systems efficiently.
• Coordinates documentation and follows up on case-related tasks.
• Assesses coverage and initiates financial assistance.
• Applies payer-specific rules, resolves issues, and identifies contract limitations.
• Resolves moderate concerns and tracks follow-ups with patients.
• Educates patients and reports usage trends on kiosks.
• Coordinates with departments, tailors messaging, and supports patients.
• Validates insurance and tracks referral status.
• Schedules specialty visits and coordinates preparation.
• Coordinates special needs transport.
• Resolves minor chart issues and assists with release of information (ROI).
• Provides documentation to utilization review (UR) teams.
• Ensures compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and other applicable federal and state regulations.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.
