About The Position

The Patient Access Specialist supports patients referred to Option Care Health for specialty infusion services by coordinating referrals, intake documentation, and communication across teams to help ensure a smooth transition into care. The position partners with referral sources, sales, pharmacy, nursing, and internal teams to support timely access to therapy and provide a consistent, high-quality experience for patients and referral partners. The employee must reside in California and have in-depth knowledge of California payers.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least two years of related experience.
Ability to multitask and support numerous referrals and priorities at once.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Detail-oriented, with a strong focus on quality.
Strong customer service skills.
Ability to troubleshoot, solve problems, and collaborate with cross-functional team members across sales and operations.
Must reside in California and have in-depth knowledge of California payers.

Nice To Haves

Previous healthcare or medical billing experience.

Responsibilities

Coordinate patient discharge and arrange nursing and delivery by engaging with patients, referral sources, sales, pharmacy, and nursing.
Create, communicate, and obtain all required documentation for new referrals.
Secure patients’ upfront payments and help them identify payment options, including directing them to financial assistance programs where appropriate.
Support activities that help ensure clean claims, including following up on missing paperwork for claims on hold and denial management.
Assist the Supervisor and Manager with special assignments as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
