About The Position

The Patient Access Specialist supports patients referred to Option Care Health for Specialty Infusion Services by coordinating referrals, intake documentation, and cross-functional communication to help ensure a seamless transition into care. The role partners with referral sources, sales, pharmacy, nursing, and internal teams to support timely access to therapy and provide a consistent, high-quality experience for patients and referral partners. The position requires the employee to reside in California and have in-depth knowledge of California payers.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least two years of related experience.
Ability to multitask and support numerous referrals and priorities at one time.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Detail-oriented with a high degree of quality focus.
Strong customer service skills.
Ability to troubleshoot, solve problems, and collaborate with cross-functional team members across sales and operations.
Must reside in California and have in-depth knowledge of California payers.

Nice To Haves

Previous healthcare or medical billing experience.

Responsibilities

Engage with patients, referral sources, sales, pharmacy, and nursing to coordinate discharge and secure nursing and delivery.
Create, communicate, and obtain all required documentation for new referrals.
Secure patients’ upfront payments, including helping patients find payment options when needed by identifying opportunities and directing them to financial assistance programs.
Support ongoing activities to ensure clean claims on hold and manage denials, including following up on missing paperwork.
Assist the Supervisor and Manager with special assignments as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
