About The Position

The Patient Access Representative validates the completeness and accuracy of account information. The role obtains required consents, verifies insurance, obtains required pre-certifications and authorizations, and requests or collects payments from patients. The representative explains BMH policies, responds promptly to patient inquiries, greets patients upon arrival at BMH, initiates registration, and directs visitors to the appropriate individual or area for assistance. The representative is expected to demonstrate a strong work ethic and uphold the behavioral standards and mission of Beaufort Memorial Hospital.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• At least two years of experience in general hospital-related practices preferred.
• A minimum of two years of experience in a business environment or health care institution preferred.
