About The Position

This position greets customers and facilitates patient registration in a timely, professional, and courteous manner. It gathers demographic and financial information from patients or their representatives through face-to-face and virtual interactions, providing the information and documents needed for appropriate care and compliant, accurate registration and billing. The representative serves as a liaison between patients, Virtual Patient Registration Representatives, and Patient Schedulers. The role also includes completing patient checkout, scheduling follow-up appointments according to physician orders, and providing cost estimates and appointment itineraries.

Responsibilities

Interview patients to obtain demographic details, financial information, and minimum health information needed to support appropriate care.
Obtain copies of insurance cards and other identification, and update patient information in the medical record as necessary.
Collect point-of-service information and payments, including copayments and down payments; reconcile the cash drawer and report daily deposit records.
Maintain assigned work queues according to supervisor instructions and guidance.
Interact positively and caringly with patients, coworkers, and others to provide a high level of customer service.
Answer incoming phone calls, schedule appointments, and refer patients to the clinical team as needed.
Sanitize registration equipment between uses and restock basic supplies.
Complete patient checkout, schedule physician-ordered follow-up appointments, and provide cost estimates and itineraries for upcoming appointments.
Perform other clerical duties as assigned.
