About The Position

As our Patient Access Representative, you will serve as the essential first point of contact for patients, ensuring a seamless and positive healthcare experience. You will play a critical role in the revenue cycle by managing accurate patient registration, verifying insurance eligibility, and maintaining confidential electronic health records. By facilitating smooth access-related workflows, you will contribute directly to our mission of providing high-quality, patient-centered care while ensuring compliance with privacy standards and organizational policies. Every day you will utilize multiple hospital systems to perform registration, scheduling, and documentation tasks with high precision. You will be responsible for gathering and updating patient demographic and insurance data, communicating financial responsibilities to families, and collecting payments at the time of service. Your daily routine will involve collaborating with the broader healthcare team, resolving routine registration discrepancies, and escalating complex issues to ensure that clinic and provider workflows remain efficient, productive, and focused on patient needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least one year of relevant experience in a healthcare patient access setting
  • Solid working knowledge of insurance payers
  • Solid working knowledge of real-time eligibility verification
  • Solid working knowledge of standard medical documentation procedures
  • Strong administrative skills
  • Strong computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Office and data entry
  • Professional demeanor
