About The Position
The Patient Access Representative supports a smooth, accurate, and welcoming experience for patients and visitors. The role contributes to patient admission, registration, insurance verification, and scheduling while ensuring interactions are efficient and compliant with financial and insurance requirements. The schedule is 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. with a weekend rotation, at 0.7 FTE.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least two years of customer service or healthcare-related experience is preferred.

Responsibilities
- Collect, analyze, and record demographic, insurance, financial, and clinical data in the system, ensuring required documentation is complete.
- Maintain knowledge of insurance plans and verification processes.
- Answer and route phone calls professionally and take accurate messages.
- Educate patients about financial obligations, including point-of-service collections and estimates.
- Assist with patient self-service registration processes.
- Monitor and manage multiple work queues to ensure timely workflow.
- Refer patients who need financial assistance with clinic or hospital bills to a Financial Advocate.
- Schedule walk-in procedures and collaborate with central scheduling regarding other needs.
