About The Position

The Temporary Patient Access Representative at UBMD Pediatrics provides customer service and supports patients throughout the scheduling and check-in process. The role includes scheduling appointments, collecting patient and insurance information, verifying coverage, preparing charts, answering calls, processing referrals, and managing incoming mail and faxes. The representative supports daily office operations and maintains accurate patient records while communicating professionally and providing a welcoming patient experience.

The temporary position may be scheduled part-time or full-time depending on departmental needs and the selected candidate’s availability. The position is onsite. Temporary employees are not eligible for benefits.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong familiarity with medical terminology.
• Previous experience with EMR systems.
• Exceptional communication skills and a professional demeanor.
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure with precision and empathy.
• Commitment to cultural sensitivity and confidentiality when handling patient information.

Responsibilities

• Schedule appointments and support patients from booking through arrival.
• Collect patient and insurance information, complete forms, and follow established protocols.
• Book appointments, provide paperwork, and inform patients of important details.
• Assist with pre-registration, verify insurance, and prepare charts.
• Answer incoming calls, respond to inquiries, route calls appropriately, and accurately record patient interactions.
• Manage incoming mail, faxes, and referral requests.
• Perform general office duties, including filing, scanning, and document preparation.
• Provide exceptional customer service to create a positive patient experience.
• Perform other assigned tasks.
