About The Position

As our Patient Access Representative you will be a vital front-line professional, responsible for facilitating seamless patient registration and admitting functions across various hospital access points, including the Emergency Department and main registration. Your role is essential in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of patient data, which directly supports efficient workflows and contributes to a positive patient experience. You will serve as a key link between patients, their families, and our healthcare teams, operating within a framework of relationship-based care and strict organizational compliance. Every day you will gather, verify, and update critical patient demographic and insurance information while managing confidential documentation within the electronic health record. You will perform insurance eligibility and benefits verification, communicate financial responsibilities to patients, and collect payments at the time of service. Additionally, you will schedule and revise appointments, scan and index patient records, and provide high-quality support via telephone and other communication channels to ensure smooth patient access and operational continuity.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED upon hire.
  • One year of relevant experience in a healthcare or patient access setting.
  • Solid understanding of insurance payers and registration procedures.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage high-volume workloads and resolve routine discrepancies independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient privacy and adherence to all regulatory standards.
