About The Position

This position greets customers and facilitates patient registration in a timely, professional, and courteous manner. It interviews patients or their representatives in person and virtually to collect demographic, financial, and minimum health information, along with documents and data needed for appropriate care and accurate, compliant registration and billing.

The representative serves as a liaison between patients, Virtual Patient Registration Representatives, and Patient Schedulers. The role includes completing patient checkout, scheduling physician-ordered follow-up appointments, and providing cost estimates and itineraries for upcoming appointments.

• Previous Patient Access Representative or Patient Scheduler experience.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients to obtain demographic details, financial information, and minimum health information needed for appropriate care.
• Obtain copies of insurance cards and other identification, and update patient information in the medical record as needed.
• Collect point-of-service payments, including co-payments and down payments; reconcile the cash drawer and report daily deposit records associated with co-payment collections.
• Maintain assigned work queues according to supervisor instructions and guidance.
• Interact positively and with care with patients, coworkers, and others to provide a high level of customer service.
• Answer incoming phone calls, schedule appointments, and refer patients to the clinical team as needed.
• Sanitize registration equipment between uses and restock basic supplies.
• Complete patient checkout, schedule physician-ordered follow-up appointments, and provide cost estimates and itineraries for upcoming appointments.
• Perform other clerical duties as assigned.
