About The Position
The Patient Access Representative performs tasks related to pre-registration and registration of inpatients and outpatients efficiently, accurately, and professionally, ensuring the needs of patients, physicians, and the hospital are met.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with staff, patients or guarantors, insurance companies, physicians, and others.
- Ability to follow directions and comprehend complex issues.
- Strong computer skills.
- Ability to work independently and exercise independent judgment when needed.
- Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements of the job.
Nice To Haves
- Two years of previous work-related experience.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Previous medical billing, registration, and collection experience.
- Bilingual ability.
