Patient Access Representative - PRN
About The Position
Twin County Regional Healthcare, part of Lifepoint Health, is hiring a Patient Access Representative to help provide excellent patient care and support the mission of making communities healthier. This is an onsite PRN role with variable, as-needed shifts. The pay range is $14.41–$17.79 per hour. The representative verifies insurance benefits and eligibility, obtains authorizations when necessary, collects patient payments, and provides information to patients and families about patient rights and advance directives. The role also involves professional in-person and telephone communication, clear instructions, and excellent customer service.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Computer proficiency required.
- Excellent customer service and telephone skills.
Nice To Haves
- Associate’s degree preferred.
- Medical terminology experience preferred.
- Billing and/or collection experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Verify insurance benefits and eligibility, and obtain insurance authorizations when necessary.
- Collect deposits, co-pays, and deductibles.
- Educate patients and families about patient rights and advance directives, and distribute patient guides.
- Communicate professionally in person and by phone, provide clear instructions, and deliver excellent customer service.
