About The Position

Jericho Road Community Health Center is actively seeking a Patient Access Representative. This position is full-time, within the Patient Access Department, working at either our 184 Barton or 1021 Broadway location. Requirements

  • High School graduate or GED equivalent
  • At least one year working in an office setting
  • Direct experience in a primary care setting
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 suite
  • Experience or working knowledge of EMR systems (such as Medent a plus)

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist patients, families, and visitors in a professional, courteous, and culturally responsive manner.
  • Complete patient registration, demographic updates, insurance verification, and payment collection.
  • Schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments following organizational scheduling standards.
  • Assign patients to provider panels according to established organizational guidelines.
  • Support provider panel management through patient outreach, recall initiatives, follow-up scheduling, and access improvement activities.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls, return voicemail messages, and route calls appropriately.
  • Check patients in and out while supporting efficient patient flow.
  • Coordinate interpreter services as needed to support patient care.
  • Maintain accurate patient information within the electronic medical record.
  • Protect patient confidentiality while remaining compliant with all HIPAA guidelines
  • Process, scan, index, code, and route patient documentation according to established organizational workflows.
  • Operate standard office equipment, including telephones, scanners, printers, fax machines, and voicemail systems.
  • Respond to patient questions and concerns while providing excellent customer service and escalating issues when appropriate.
  • Follow standardized organizational workflows, participate in required training and meetings, support quality improvement initiatives, and perform other duties as assigned.
