The Patient Access Representative 2 (On-Site) registers patients for clinical services by obtaining pertinent information, verifying insurance benefits, explaining pertinent documents, and collecting payments. This role is crucial for the financial clearance of scheduled patient accounts by obtaining, confirming, and entering demographic, financial, and clinical information. The representative will also contact patients' families or physicians' offices for missing insurance information, verify insurance eligibility, and notify patients and referring physicians of any issues. Collaboration with scheduling departments to identify add-on patients, obtaining necessary authorizations, pre-certifications, and referrals are also key responsibilities. The role involves notifying patients of liabilities and collecting funds, while maintaining appropriate records and accurate documentation. Adherence to University and unit-level policies and procedures, and safeguarding University assets are expected.
