Float Patient Access Representative 1

About The Position

The Patient Access Representative 1 greets patients, schedules appointments, updates patient demographics, and verifies insurance eligibility. This full-time float position serves north region clinics in Talihina, Poteau, McAlester, and Stigler. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with days and hours varying. The position reports to the Manager. Weekly earned wage access is available as an option.

Requirements

Knowledge of HIPAA.
Experience verifying and sequencing Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance.
One year of experience in a medical office setting.

Responsibilities

Establish, update, and correct patient chart information using eligibility guidelines.
Check patients in and out, answer phones, deliver messages, and contact patients about follow-ups and missed appointments.
Verify insurance eligibility and assign referrals to the Benefit Coordinator.
Complete Medicare Secondary Payer questionnaires for Medicare patients.
Educate patients on health insurance, tribal membership, CDIB cards, the Affordable Care Act, and VA benefits.
Scan documentation in Vista Imaging according to policy.
Maintain accurate patient information records.
Address patient portal requests, create charts, schedule appointments, and update medical records and demographic information as needed.
Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
