This role involves gathering patient demographic and financial information, entering it into the computer system, assigning patient rooms, preparing necessary documentation, and transporting or escorting patients to their assigned areas. The position requires obtaining appropriate signatures, answering the telephone, managing bed assignments, ordering stat cleans, and communicating effectively with the house supervisor. The representative will inform patients of hospital regulations, secure armbands, and obtain signatures on relevant documents. A key responsibility is determining the need for a hospital-issued Advance Beneficiary Notice (ABN waiver) and ensuring patients are escorted or transported to their assigned areas. The role also includes meeting and greeting patients as the registration process begins, scanning all required information (physician orders, driver's licenses, insurance cards, consents, etc.), and pre-registering all scheduled tests. Adherence to all safety, infection control, and colleague health policies and procedures, as well as HIPAA and EMTALA regulations, is mandatory.
