This position is responsible for patient and visitor reception, directing patients to the appropriate location, and obtaining and verifying insurance and billing information. The role requires accurate processing of information for all insurance types, including those unfamiliar to the representative. The Patient Access Rep will audit charts daily for completeness and accuracy, complete follow-ups within designated timeframes, and prepare identification bracelets and patient care paperwork in a timely manner. Maintaining over 95% accuracy is essential. The role also involves looking up non-scheduled patient exams in the database, contacting appropriate personnel for equipment repair, and maintaining a close working relationship with ancillary clinical departments and physician's offices. Additionally, the Patient Access Rep will attend meetings, support division directions, train and orient new clerical staff, and communicate effectively in person and via telephone. The position requires handling stress and pressure, making decisions, and understanding and complying with the policies and procedures of Sky Lakes Medical Center. Competency in all position responsibilities, including age-specific, cultural, spiritual, and functional awareness, must be demonstrated.
