About The Position

The Patient Access Representative II is responsible for accurately collecting and analyzing all required demographic, insurance, financial, and clinical data elements necessary to register patients. This role involves providing routine patient access activity to facilitate efficient operations, expeditious reimbursement, and optimal consumer satisfaction, while promoting teamwork. The incumbent is expected to further the mission of Enloe Medical Center by improving the quality of life through patient-centered care, consistently demonstrating the core values, and performing duties in accordance with regulatory compliance requirements and the Medical Center’s Code of Conduct.

Requirements

• Competency as a Patient Access Representative I at Enloe Medical Center
• Six months Patient Access/Registration or billing experience
• Two years hospital Unit Secretary experience
• Excellent customer service skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook)
• Demonstrate positive, professional and effective interpersonal relations with patients, public, physicians, and staff
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment
• Ability to communicate with patients and families during time of emotional and physical stress
• Demonstrate sensitivity and compassion for the hospitalized patient and family
• Maintain all protected patient information in strict confidence
• Demonstrate high ethical standards and comply with applicable State and Federal regulatory requirements
• Demonstrate competency in performance of job duties in accordance with department standards
• Ability to follow instructions, work quickly and accurately in a fast paced environment
• Ability to organize and prioritize assignments
• Demonstrate reliability and dependability by reporting to work as scheduled
• Ability to work under conditions of frequent interruptions and willingness to be flexible and adapt to change
• Ability to fulfill the essential functions of the position
