About The Position

The Patient Access Representative is often the first point of contact for patients and represents BJC through compassionate, professional, patient-focused service. The role facilitates patients’ entry into BJC facilities and requires emotional intelligence, attention to detail, and the ability to build personal connections with patients and families whose needs and acuity vary. Accurate demographic and insurance information collection, benefit verification, point-of-service collections, and selection of the correct patient in the Master Patient Index (MPI) support patient safety, reimbursement, and denial prevention. The position includes hospital registration and scheduling across multiple BJC systems.
