About The Position

The Patient Access Front Desk Associate coordinates patient flow and timely processing, and maintains knowledge of practices used within the department, physician practice, or hospital to address patient questions and concerns. The role requires knowledge of insurance requirements, Baptist Health South Florida pricing, financial assistance options, and Revenue Cycle operations. The associate provides professional, compassionate, and friendly service to patients of all ages, families, employees, physicians, and community members in accordance with Baptist Health South Florida’s service-excellence philosophy. The estimated pay range is $16.61–$21.09 per hour, depending on experience.

Requirements

• High school diploma, certificate, GED, training, or equivalent experience.
• Complete and pass the Patient Access training course.
• Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment and perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Be detail-oriented, organized, and a team player, with compassion and excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Office or EMR applications, and accurate typing skills.
• Knowledge of regulatory guidelines including HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, Medicare coverage structure, and medical necessity compliance guidelines.
• Minimum required experience: less than one year.

Nice To Haves

• Basic knowledge of medical and insurance terminology.
• Bilingual English and Spanish or Creole.
