About The Position
Baptist Health is seeking a Patient Access Coordinator to join its team in New Albany, Indiana. Patient Access Coordinators contribute to the revenue cycle by completing the admissions process for inpatients and outpatients and collecting accurate information used in claims. The role requires exemplary customer service, careful handling of confidential information, and ensuring patients understand their rights under HIPAA regulations and company policy. The coordinator maintains compliance with state and federal requirements for access services. Insurance verification, eligibility checks, point-of-service estimates, and collections are also part of the role. The position is identified as first shift.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Typing speed of 40–45 words per minute.
- Extensive insurance experience or training is vital to success in the role.
