About The Position
Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) is hiring a full-time Patient Access Associate for its Patient Access team in the Emergency Department in Bolivar, Missouri. The role helps make patients’ initial contact with the hospital pleasant and stress-free while gathering appropriate information to maintain accurate medical records. The position works an evening shift from 12:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., with a $1.00 shift differential.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of customer service experience.
- Ability to work at a computer for 90% of the day and stand for the remaining 10%.
Nice To Haves
- Preferred knowledge of medical terminology.
Responsibilities
- Register CMH ambulance report accounts accurately and efficiently.
- Create a friendly atmosphere for people seeking services in the Emergency Room.
- Complete Pre-ER account registrations accurately and promptly after notification of medical screenings, in accordance with EMTALA guidelines.
- Ensure correct insurance mnemonics are listed and billing addresses are provided.
- Cross-train, when applicable, to work in various areas of Patient Access.
