Patient Access Assistant | Urgent Care
About The Position
CentraCare is hiring a Patient Access Assistant to serve as a first point of contact for patients and visitors and perform registration duties within the hospital and clinic. The role requires independent analysis, sound judgment, and detailed knowledge of facility procedures. Responsibilities include verifying patient and insurance information, scheduling appointments, and obtaining and identifying information needed to produce billable patient accounts. This is a part-time position in St. Cloud, with 22 or 44 hours every two weeks. The schedule is a 12-hour day/evening shift from 6:45 a.m. to 8:15 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday, and every holiday. Depending on availability, the position may require working every other weekend or all weekends. Starting pay is $20.31 per hour, with the exact wage determined by years of related experience; the stated pay range is $20.31–$30.47 per hour.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of clerical, administrative, or customer service experience, or 1 year of prior scheduling, billing, patient access, accounts receivable, and/or collections experience.
- Customer service skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to independently analyze, exercise judgment, and apply detailed knowledge of facility procedures.
