JOB DESCRIPTION: Reporting to the Chief Intellectual Property Officer, provides support to the Office of Technology Transfer in management of its intellectual property portfolio. Responsibilities include preparing and prosecuting patent filings, developing and implementing offensive and defensive IP strategies, conducting various patent searches, conducting limited freedom-to-practice evaluations, preparing or obtaining appropriate opinions and providing timely counsel on intellectual property issues. Performs related responsibilities as required.
Requirements
- Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
- Advanced degree in discipline related to specialty area
- Two years of experience in patent prosecution, a law firm or corporation
- Residency in the state of GA
Responsibilities
