About The Position

As a Baker, you will produce a wide variety of high-quality baked goods for hotel guests. You will prepare, bake, and decorate items including breads, pastries, cakes, and desserts. The role involves scratch baking and producing pastry items in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while following recipes and food-safety practices.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Baker or in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of baking techniques and ingredients.
Ability to read and follow written recipes and measurements accurately.
Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Food Handler's Certificate (required).
Understanding of scratch baking.
Ability to work efficiently and safely in a fast-paced environment.
Experience working in a high-volume environment with large equipment such as double rack ovens, 140-quart mixers, and sheeters.
Punctual, organized, attentive, and responsive to the demands of daily operations.
Understanding of every facet of the gourmet pastry department.
Demonstrated experience of 1–3 years and ability to make pastry and identify products.
Ability to work with individuals and teams from diverse backgrounds.
Flexibility to adapt to change.

Bake a variety of breads, pastries, cakes, and desserts.
Decorate cakes and pastries with icings, frostings, and other decorative elements.

Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and specials.
Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies.

Prepare non-baked goods and finish, decorate, plate, and cut baked goods as required for assigned duties.
