About The Position

Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village is seeking a skilled Pastry Cook IV to join its culinary team. The role involves preparing pastry items to order and to consistent quality standards, supporting breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner service, and maintaining the pastry shop’s equipment and food-handling practices. The position is full time and offers an hourly range of $21.70.

Requirements

At least 6 months of culinary or related work experience.
Excellent reading, writing, and oral proficiency in English.
Ability to operate, maintain, and properly clean equipment in the Pastry Shop.
High school education, cooking school or culinary institute education, or equivalent experience.
Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

Prepare pastry items according to guest orders, recipe cards, and production, portion, and presentation standards.
Complete mise en place and set up the station for breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner service.
Start food items prepared ahead of time while avoiding production beyond estimated needs.
Operate, maintain, and properly clean kitchen equipment, including a deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven, steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron, and flat top grill.
Date food containers and rotate products according to policies; maintain proper temperatures for perishables.
Check pars for shift use, determine preparation and freezer-pull needs, and set up the line.
Note out-of-stock items and possible shortages.
Return unused food to designated storage areas and cover and date perishables.
Assist in setting up plans and actions to correct food-cost problems.
Control food waste, loss, and usage according to policies.
