About The Position

Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village is seeking a skilled Pastry Cook III to join its culinary team and craft pastry creations in a dynamic environment focused on exceptional guest experiences. The role prepares pastry items to guest orders and established recipe, production, portion, and presentation standards, and sets up the station for meal service. It also involves preparing items ahead of time, safely operating and cleaning kitchen equipment, and managing food storage, preparation needs, shortages, food costs, and waste.

Requirements

Excellent reading, writing, and oral proficiency in English.
Ability to operate, maintain, and properly clean equipment in the Pastry Shop.
High school education, cooking school or culinary institute education, or equivalent experience.
At least two years of culinary or related work experience; advanced culinary knowledge is expected.
Must possess legal work authorization in the United States.

Responsibilities

Prepare pastry items according to guest orders, recipe cards, and production, portion, and presentation standards.
Complete mise en place and set up the station for breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner service.
Start food items that are prepared ahead of time without exceeding estimated needs.
Operate, maintain, and properly clean kitchen equipment in the Pastry Shop.
Date food containers and rotate food according to policies; keep perishables at proper temperatures and return unused items to designated storage, covered and dated.
Check pars for shift use, determine preparation needs, freezer pulls, and line setup, and note out-of-stock items or possible shortages.
Assist in setting up plans and actions to correct food cost problems and control food waste, loss, and usage according to policies.
