About The Position

As a Team Member of the Food and Beverage team, the Pastry Cook/Baker is a CRCR Ambassador and takes personal ownership to ensure all of their actions are in the best interest of the business. The Pastry Cook/Baker is responsible for preparing and baking various goods, such as cakes, cookies, pies, and bread. They create new and exciting desserts to enhance menus and engage Guests.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • 1+ year experience as a Pastry Cook/Baker.
  • Must be able to attain an Online Food Handler Certificate.
  • Knowledge of basic baking techniques.
  • Knowledge of how a recipe works.
  • Strong listening and communication skills.
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking.
  • Must be able to work independently and maintain a high level of performance.
  • Must be able to complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner while maintaining business standards.
  • Demonstrates a flock mentality, focused on teamwork and collaboration with others.
  • Provides exceptional service to internal and external Guests while leveraging the knowledge of the position and the business, ensuring a clucktastic experience for all.
  • Stays engaged and motivated with the business, department, and all Team Members at all levels while encouraging growth and development of self and others.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare desserts, pastries, and other baked goods using business recipes while operating large-volume cooking equipment.
  • Prepare and maintain ingredients, tools, supplies, and equipment.
  • Maintain inventory levels of ingredients and merchandise.
  • Restock and restock daily all pastries, cakes, pies, and other baked goods.
  • Ensure the product is stored, prepared, and served according to specifications and standards.
  • Execute pastry orders for catered events and accommodate special requests.
  • Prepare garnishes for baked items.
  • Prepare custom-made pastries based on the preferences of Guests (e.g., birthday cakes).
  • Create a prep list and see it through to the very end.
  • Communicate any changes or substitutions to management.
  • Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards for the kitchen and workstations, cleaning food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils.
  • Proper rotation of product in all chillers to minimize wastage/spoilage.
  • Assure that all baking and pastry items are prepared and delivered promptly.
  • Adhere to standardized recipes and specifications in order to maintain consistency and ensure all standards are met.
  • Use creativity to craft enticing treats.
  • Other duties as assigned.
