  • Our hotels operate nonstop, this require flexibility from everyone on the team.
  • Regularly required to talk, and hear.
  • Frequently required to walk and stand for up to 8 hours.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, use hand, finger and wrist dexterity.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing breads and pastries, including preparing dough and fillings, proofing, baking and decorating as appropriate.
  • Review production sheet to understand variety of baked goods to be produced daily.
  • Prepare and cook foods according to recipes, quality and presentation standards, and food prep checklists.
  • Be fully in charge of production and ordering and managing amenity needs.
  • Maintain kitchen logs for food safety program compliance internally and with the State.
  • Keep the management informed of excess food items that need to be utilized.
  • Safely and appropriately use baking and measuring tools/equipment/appliances to prepare baked goods.
  • Follow and ensure compliance with food safety handling policies and procedures, including personal hygiene.
  • Check to ensure correct temperatures of kitchen appliances and food, and report issues to management.
  • Ensures all employees are trained in their job functions including new procedures and techniques.
  • Performs related duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Communicates by various means in a professional means to all employees in the department.
  • Monitor the quality of food prepared and portions served throughout the shift.
  • Ensure implementation of standards set by the Pastry Chef & Executive chef on food quality preparation and presentation.
  • Fulfill guest special requests involving food allergies, dietary restrictions and special occasions.
  • Preventing and correcting the imperfections and blemishes that tend to come up.
  • Report imperfections and work with several other positions to correct.
  • Communicate with other departments and extended hotel team in order to ensure alignment.
