Requirements

  • You have great communication skills with a strong customer service ethic.
  • English is the primary language used in our hotel. You can comfortably communicate in this language.
  • Regularly required to talk, and hear.
  • Frequently required to walk and stand for up to 8 hours.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, use hand, finger and wrist dexterity.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of all stewarding processes and equipment’s.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing.
  • Washing and peeling fresh fruits and vegetables.
  • Preparing and cooking food.
  • Setting-up, cleaning and breaking down their work station.
  • Washing and disinfecting the kitchen areas including tables, tools, knives, and equipment.
  • Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with other employees.
  • Daily communication with Cook 1, Cook 1 Supervisor and Sous Chef. Discuss hotel status, special attention arrivals and /or special attention guests with dietary/allergic restrictions, kitchen status (equipment repairs, cleanliness, and special needs projects).
  • Proper communications with stewards to ensure kitchen is running at the highest possible sanitary standards.
  • Ensure complete wash and sanitized kitchen is passed over to the next shift.
  • Closely monitor portion sizing to ensure consistency.
  • Assist in maintaining all logs and checklists for State and Internal audits.
  • Assist for protein/plate counts for service.
  • Assist for (Preventative) Maintenance log in Chef’s office with engineering team.
  • Thorough check of all walk-ins to ensure proper storage and rotation.
  • Expert in plating using proper service ware.
  • Ensure storerooms are in excellent condition, maintaining/delegating maintenance when necessary.
  • Offer suggestions of ways to improve guests’ experiences through new food offerings and ideas to drive revenue.
  • Report imperfections and blemishes and work with other positions to correct them.
  • Communicate with other departments and extended hotel team in order to ensure alignment.
