About The Position

Roadrunners drive passenger vehicles between auto auctions, nearby dealerships, and storage lots in their local area. Drivers travel between pickup and drop-off locations in a company shuttle van with other drivers, following other vehicles or a chase van. The company provides fuel, training, and vehicles; no special license or training is needed. This is a long-term, non-temporary and non-seasonal position. Drivers must work Tuesday. The role is described as suitable for college students, gig workers, seniors, and retirees. The work location is Roadrunner Services at the Manheim Auto Auction, 123 Williams St., North Dighton, MA 02764. The location is secured; walk-ins are not accepted, and in-person interviews are by appointment only. Initial interviews are conducted by phone. The stated pay rate is $15 per hour. Drivers should arrive 15 minutes early for check-in and security procedures. Work may begin once the motor vehicle record (MVR) check and drug test are complete. The position is listed as a 1099 contract and part-time.

Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Have a good driving record.
Successfully pass an MVR check, background check, and drug test.
Be able to get in and out of vehicles repeatedly during the day.
Be able to see clearly near and far, maintain adequate peripheral vision, perceive depth and motion, and distinguish traffic signals and sounds.
Have a smartphone.
Do not use or be impaired by marijuana while driving or on assignment, regardless of legality or medical authorization.

Responsibilities

Drive passenger vehicles to and from auto auctions, nearby dealerships, and storage lots.
Ride in a company shuttle van with other drivers between pickup and drop-off locations.
Follow other vehicles or the chase van in front of the driver.
Follow safe driving procedures.
Scan vehicles with a smartphone.
Perform a walk-around visual inspection for damage before driving each vehicle.
Work as part of a team to provide efficient and safe pickup and delivery of vehicles.
Work Tuesday.
