Passenger Car Delivery Drivers
About The Position
Roadrunner Services is seeking long-term, local drivers to move passenger vehicles between auto auctions, nearby dealerships, and storage lots. Drivers ride in a company shuttle van with other drivers to and from pickup and drop-off locations, and may follow other vehicles or a chase van. The role is described as suitable for people seeking extra cash and does not require a CDL. This is not a temporary or seasonal job. The position is based at Manheim Auto Auction in Kansas City, Missouri. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., sometimes later depending on volume. Drivers must arrive 15 minutes before their scheduled start for check-in and security procedures. Pay is $15 per hour. The job is classified as a full-time 1099 contract.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Good driving record.
- Must successfully pass an MVR, background, and drug test.
- Ability to get in and out of vehicles repeatedly during the day.
- Ability to see clearly near and far, maintain adequate peripheral vision, perceive depth and motion, and distinguish traffic signals and sounds.
- Must have a smartphone.
- Marijuana use or impairment is prohibited while driving or on assignment, regardless of legality or medical authorization.
Responsibilities
- Drive passenger vehicles between auto auctions, nearby dealerships, and storage lots.
- Ride in a company shuttle van with other drivers to and from pickup and drop-off locations.
- Follow other vehicles or the chase van in front.
- Follow safe driving procedures.
- Scan vehicles using a smartphone.
- Perform a walk-around visual inspection for damage before driving each vehicle.
- Work as part of a team to provide efficient and safe vehicle pickup and delivery.
