About The Position

Roadrunner Services is seeking long-term, non-CDL drivers to drive passenger vehicles between a local auto auction, nearby dealerships, and storage lots. Drivers ride in a company shuttle van with other drivers to and from vehicle pickup and drop-off locations, and follow other vehicles or a chase van. The role is described as suitable for people seeking extra income and does not require a specific skill level. It is not a temporary or seasonal job.

The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with Thursday designated as Sale Day and required workday. Drivers should arrive 15 minutes before their scheduled start time for check-in and security procedures. The work location is Roadrunner Services at Manheim Auto Auction in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Pay is $13 per hour on Monday and Wednesday and $14 per hour on Thursday Sale Day; no Tuesday rate is specified. The position is listed as a full-time 1099 contract.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years old.
• Have a good driving record.
• Successfully pass an MVR check, background check, and drug test.
• Be able to get in and out of vehicles repeatedly during the day.
• Be able to see clearly near and far, maintain adequate peripheral vision, perceive depth and motion, and distinguish traffic signals and sounds.
• Have a smartphone.
• Work Sale Day on Thursday.
• Do not use or be impaired by marijuana while driving or on assignment, regardless of legality or medical authorization.

Responsibilities

• Drive passenger vehicles between auto auctions, nearby dealerships, and storage lots.
• Ride in a company shuttle van with other drivers to and from pickup and drop-off locations.
• Follow other vehicles or the chase van in front of the driver.
• Follow safe driving procedures.
• Scan vehicles using a smartphone.
• Perform a visual walk-around inspection for damage before driving each vehicle.
• Work as part of a team to provide efficient and safe vehicle pickup and delivery.
• Arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled start time for check-in and security procedures.
