About The Position

The Parts Sales role maintains and controls boat, motor, trailer, and ATV parts inventory while assisting external and internal customers with parts purchases and questions. The position supports a world-class customer service experience by handling inquiries and sales, managing inventory transactions, and coordinating parts orders, receipts, returns, and warranties. Work is performed under general supervision using established procedures, with occasional independent judgment to complete assignments and recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.

Requirements

High school education or equivalent experience.
Ability to calculate figures such as discounts or percentages and make change for customers.
Ability to communicate with customers and associates in a friendly, professional manner.
Good phone etiquette.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers.
Ability to operate a computer and perform data entry functions.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

Support a strong commitment to world-class customer service and ensure a pleasant, productive shopping experience for customers.
Respond to retail parts inquiries, price quote requests, and requests for general information by phone or at the parts counter.
Research customer inquiries using Internet sites, manufacturer contacts, or on-site reference materials.
Perform parts sales transactions by phone or at the parts counter.
Safeguard funds received and reconcile the till daily.
Create purchase orders for parts needed for stock, customers, or work orders and forward orders to the appropriate vendor.
Receive ordered parts and verify shipping documents against merchandise and quantities received.
Enter received parts into the IDS inventory tracking system.
Place received merchandise in designated locations for easy retrieval.
Verify and validate full payment before shipping special-order parts.
Issue parts to technicians and riggers according to work order requirements and enter issued parts on work orders in IDS to track inventory.
Verify and complete refunds for returned parts or cancellations.
Return parts and warranty parts to the appropriate vendor and ensure credit is received.
Prepare for and conduct required parts inventories according to established schedules.
Report and reconcile inventory shortages or parts variances resulting from physical inventory.
Maintain a clean and professional work area.
Perform other duties as assigned.
