The Parts Sales Counterperson I will serve as the primary parts expert for customers needing to maintain and repair their equipment, interacting both in person and over the phone. This position is crucial for ensuring customers receive the correct parts promptly. Responsibilities include actively engaging with customers to understand their needs, providing recommendations, receiving and stocking inventory, and maintaining showroom stock levels. The role requires utilizing product literature, specialized software, and developing parts and equipment knowledge to offer accurate solutions. Success in this role depends on translating technical details into effective parts support, building trust, and fostering lasting client relationships. A positive attitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to finding the best solutions are essential.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work Saturdays during the busy season (generally March – September).
  • Verifiable parts counter experience or applicable mechanical/service experience.
  • Basic knowledge of parts inventory.
  • Self-motivation and assertive drive.
  • Ability to perform at a high level in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers by telephone and in person to sell company parts and other services.
  • Above-average organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Actively engage with customers to identify their needs and provide recommendations.
  • Receive and shelve daily stock orders.
  • Maintain showroom stock levels.
  • Use product literature, specialized software systems, and knowledge of parts and equipment to offer timely and accurate solutions.
  • Translate technical details into actionable parts support.
  • Build trust and create lasting relationships with clients.
