About The Position

Tom Wood Auto Group is building a Parts Manager Talent Pool for future leadership opportunities across their dealerships. This pool is for experienced automotive leaders passionate about team development, inventory optimization, customer experience, and driving departmental performance. While there may not be an immediate opening, submitting a resume allows candidates to be considered for future Parts Manager roles. The position involves leading all aspects of dealership parts operations, including inventory management, customer satisfaction, employee development, vendor relationships, departmental profitability, and operational efficiency. Requirements

  • Previous automotive parts management, fixed operations, or dealership leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of dealership parts operations, inventory control, and performance metrics.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
  • Experience managing departmental budgets, inventory investments, and profitability.
  • Familiarity with dealership management systems, electronic parts catalogs, and inventory technology platforms.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop Parts Counterpersons, inventory personnel, and support staff.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive customer satisfaction and retention through exceptional parts support and service.
  • Monitor and improve key parts department performance metrics, including inventory turns and gross profit.
  • Manage inventory levels, stocking strategies, obsolescence, and special-order processes.
  • Ensure compliance with manufacturer standards, inventory controls, and company policies.
  • Partner with Service, Sales, and dealership leadership teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop high-performing parts department team members.
  • Oversee departmental profitability, sales growth, and expense management.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and manufacturer representatives.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular inventory audits.
  • Ensure a safe, organized, and professional parts operation.
