About The Position

Responsible for achieving sales budgets and providing every customer with an exceptional shopping experience by following company guidelines for sales, customer service, and staff training and development. The role supports store operations, merchandising, inventory and pricing practices, and the training and supervision of store associates. The manager may work as KCM or Manager on Duty, assist the Chief Executive Merchant with store-level human resources or loss prevention matters, and must be available to open and/or close the store.

Requirements

Three to five years of retail management experience and proven ability to direct operations.
Ability to perform in a high-volume, highly complex location.
Ability to demonstrate initiative and work as a self-starter.
Demonstrated proficiency in recruiting, hiring, and training associates.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
Ability to exercise independent discretion and judgment in a fast-paced environment, adapt to change, and act with urgency.
Demonstrated ability to increase the company’s overall market share.
Excellent customer service skills and ability to work well under pressure.
Ability to exert 30–60 pounds of force occasionally, 20–30 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
Ability to use hands and fingers to handle or feel; frequently stand, walk, reach, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Responsibilities

Drive, teach, and follow the P’s of retail, including People, Product, Price, Purchasing, Position, Presentation, Promotion, and Pro Services.
Engage customers, provide a quality shopping experience, and ensure associates deliver quality customer service.
Merchandise strategically according to company guidelines and maintain store presentation standards.
Promote customer and employee safety and security by following loss prevention and risk management procedures.
Assist the Chief Executive Merchant in modeling and improving a friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and quick customer service environment.
Work as KCM or Manager on Duty as required.
Conduct weekly competitive shops and communicate pricing or inventory issues to the senior team.
Analyze business reports to support merchandising, in-stock, and pricing performance, including P&L, CPR, BAT, STPOA, and STPRC reports.
Use computer and point-of-sale systems to maintain accurate inventory, cycle counts, and profit and loss management, including inventory shipping and receiving.
Ensure brand and operating standards meet or exceed expectations and interface with corporate headquarters employees.
Ensure maximum scheduling coverage during peak traffic periods.
Review associate performance, train and develop associates, supervise them, and define their workload as appropriate.
Monitor associate retention and career development and communicate improvement efforts to the Chief Executive Merchant.
Address and document unsatisfactory performance and policy violations through disciplinary action and performance counseling.
Ensure compliance with scheduling, hiring, payroll, and business planning processes.
Monitor, maintain, and follow company policies, expectations, and systems.
Perform additional managerial duties as necessary.
Assist the Chief Executive Merchant with store-level human resources or loss prevention issues as necessary.
Be available to open and/or close the store effectively.
