About The Position

Texas AirSystems is seeking a Parts Counter Sales team member to process customer orders and respond to customer inquiries for commercial HVAC products. The role conducts sales of HVAC parts, equipment, and supplies by phone, email, and over the counter. It calls for attention to detail, customer-service skills, teamwork, and self-motivation, with a focus on resolving issues and supporting customer satisfaction and retention. The position reports to the Parts Store Manager and is classified as non-exempt. The work is primarily in an office environment and may occasionally take place in the field. The employee may also load and unload shipments and must meet the physical demands described in the posting. Overtime or weekend work may be required as needed.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Valid driver’s license.
Essential computer skills.
Attention to detail, customer-service orientation, and ability to work well with others.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write correspondence; and present information effectively in one-on-one and small-group situations.
Ability to perform arithmetic using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; compute rates, ratios, and percentages; and draw and interpret graphs.
Ability to apply common-sense understanding to written, oral, or diagrammed instructions and address problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Mental stamina for problem solving and prioritizing multiple tasks.
Regular use of hands to operate a computer keyboard and telephone, and reaching with hands and arms; frequent standing, walking, and sitting; occasional climbing or balancing, and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
Ability to regularly lift or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds.
Close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

HVAC parts background preferred.
Experience in the HVAC, mechanical contracting, engineering, or construction industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

Conduct sales of HVAC parts, equipment, and supplies by phone, email, and over the counter.
Identify parts promptly and process customer quotes and orders.
Make customers aware of product promotions.
May load and unload shipments of parts, supplies, and equipment.
Respond to customer inquiries, questions, or concerns about products or services.
Record inventory discrepancies.
Follow up with customers.
Determine the best method to resolve customer issues.
Develop and maintain relationships with customers and business partners.
Use organizational and customer-service skills.
Work overtime or weekends as required.
