About The Position

Midwest Transit Equipment, Inc. is seeking a full-time Parts Inside Sales employee for its Whitestown, Indiana location. The Parts Counter Clerk assists customers with parts inquiries and works with Outside Parts Sales Representatives on parts ordering. The role also involves maintaining work orders and inventory records, identifying needed parts, operating a forklift to retrieve inventory, cycle-counting parts, and receiving and storing inventory. Midwest Transit Equipment has operated for over 50 years and provides vehicles and transportation services. It maintains thousands of vehicles at eight locations in five states and has more than 300 employees. Requirements

High school degree or equivalent.
Parts department experience.
Mechanical aptitude or experience in automotive or truck mechanics.
Ability to lift at least 25–50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Forklift certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist customers with parts inquiries.
Work with Outside Parts Sales Representatives on parts ordering.
Update existing work orders.
Update the 360 System with notes.
Identify needed parts using the most efficient method.
Operate a forklift to pull parts from inventory.
Maintain accurate inventory by updating the company inventory system.
Cycle-count parts in the warehouse.
Receive inventory into the computer system and put it away in the proper location.
Perform other duties as assigned.
