About The Position

StratusGrid is hiring a Partnerships Manager to own relationships with private equity firms and turn warm introductions to portfolio companies into closed deals. The role manages the full sales cycle, from PE firm cadence meetings and portfolio-company introductions through discovery, demonstrations, proposals, negotiations, and contract signature. It works directly with PE operating partners, deal teams, and portfolio-company leadership, in coordination with Customer Success and Operations. The position focuses on selling StratusGrid’s cloud optimization and Stratusphere platform, communicating measurable cloud savings and operational impact, and building pipeline through PE partnerships, referrals, portfolio introductions, and follow-up. The manager is responsible for communicating portfolio impact, maintaining PE relationship health, identifying expansion opportunities, and delivering reliable, proactive execution across multiple concurrent sales cycles. This is a remote-work-ready role that involves periodic travel for partner summits, customer kickoffs, and team planning sessions.

Requirements

  • Experience managing partner or channel relationships while personally carrying a quota and closing enterprise deals.
  • Experience closing enterprise technology deals involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to run a full sales cycle independently without an SDR, sales engineering team, or deal desk, while managing a high volume of deals across multiple accounts.
  • Ability to build trust by connecting the right people, setting expectations, and ensuring PE sponsors and portfolio-company teams see value.
  • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, cost optimization, or FinOps, with the ability to discuss cloud spending credibly with CFOs and technical stakeholders.
  • Strong writing and communication skills, including the ability to translate technical cloud concepts into business-focused messaging.
  • Demonstrated daily use of AI tools to produce high-quality work efficiently, with attention to quality, security, and sound judgment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel periodically for partner summits, customer kickoffs, and team planning sessions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a distributed team, with reliable high-speed internet, a professional and distraction-limited workspace, and the ability to communicate, collaborate, and execute independently.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire; visa sponsorship is not offered.

Nice To Haves

  • Sales or partnerships experience at a cloud provider, cloud systems integrator, or cloud technology consultancy.
  • Experience selling to or within PE-backed portfolio companies and familiarity with PE buying dynamics, including sponsor involvement, value-creation plan alignment, accelerated deal timelines, and executive-level decision-making.
  • Experience managing complex named accounts with multiple buying centers, such as healthcare systems, franchise models, or multi-entity organizations.
  • Located in the Chattanooga, Nashville, Knoxville, or Atlanta metro area and able to work from the Chattanooga headquarters for coworking regularly.

Responsibilities

  • Own relationships with assigned PE firms as StratusGrid’s primary contact, building connections with operating partners, deal teams, and C-level stakeholders.
  • Conduct recurring cadence meetings, present portfolio impact metrics, keep PE firms informed, and drive adoption across their portfolios.
  • Manage the full portfolio-company sales cycle from warm introduction through discovery, demonstration, proposal, negotiation, and signed contract.
  • Sell to buying committees that may include portfolio-company CFOs, technology leaders, and PE investment teams.
  • Position StratusGrid in terms of cloud savings, operational efficiency, and alignment with PE sponsors’ value-creation plans.
  • Build relationships with new PE firms and develop pipeline through referrals, portfolio-to-portfolio introductions, and post-event follow-up.
  • Identify expansion opportunities in existing engagements.
  • Coordinate with Customer Success on post-sale onboarding and escalations, and with Operations on engineer onboarding and kickoffs.
  • Share competitive intelligence and feature requests with Product.
  • Own the narrative, PE relationships, and follow-through for PE readout meetings using data provided by Operations.
  • Track cadence attendance, introduction-volume trends, and PE stakeholder feedback.
  • Capture commitments, meet deadlines, communicate status proactively, escalate issues early, and close the loop visibly.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Life insurance and short-term and long-term disability coverage.
  • 401(k) plan.
  • Flexible PTO, paid sick leave, and paid holidays.
